8/7/17: day 10 and five days since we arrived in Mackinaw City. It has also been 5 days since John's Mother has passed away.

I have been holding down the fort while John has been handling his Mom's affairs. She will be cremated  today and her service will be held in Chicago when her ashes are buried with her husband. I am here in Mackinaw City; with our 32 foot Islander and our 10 year old Anya and 6 month old Mickey. Here are some pics from the sailboat arrival under the bridge in the rain and my many miles walked. In one picture you can see the torn headsail from that horrific storm. I was lucky enough to have some free entertainment I could listen to from the boat; the Rendezvous in Mackinaw and 18th century trade fair was at Conklin Heritage Park from August 2-6. Drumming and music nightly and throughout the day...
